ART in the WCC
There is no question that one of the things that makes the WCC a warm, welcoming, and alive space is the art. We are blessed to have incredible artwork by Stanford alums in our space.
The first thing you see when you walk into the Fire Truck House is this stunning mural done by alum, Anna Letitia Mumford. This piece, created in the early 2000s and has been an iconic image for the Women's Community Center over the years.
Anna Letitia Mumford also created this mural that spans the length of the back wall in the Women's Community Center.
In the summer of 2017, we commissioned alumni Evelyn Anderson '17 to create two murals for the WCC. The aim of the first one was to capture the spirit of the WCC and the second one was inspired by the concepts of self and community care.

In 2020, in the midst of the global pandemic, our most recent art mural to add to the space was a commissioned work by Rawley Clark, '20.
Rawley's piece, entitled "With love to help you grow" was inspired by their four years of experience at the Women's Community Center, first as an intern and then as student staff member for 3 years. Due to the pandemic, this piece has not yet been officially hung up in the WCC, but we can't wait to celebrate it's unveiling in the space soon. |
